Mark Riddick

ABOUT
At age 14, Mark began networking with underground death/black metal fanzines and bands in America, Europe, and Asia. He saw his first illustrations published in a small underground fanzine from Washington called, Scavenger Magazine. His first T-Shirt design, out of hundreds to come, was for Kentucky-based grindcore crust band, Son of Dog. After a few years publishing his work with bands and fanzines, Mark’s name soon became synonymous with underground death and black metal music.

In the late 1990s Mark illustrated for Pit Magazine, one of America’s most well-known death/black metal publications, where he gained much attention for his unusually grotesque ‘filler’ art. He also forged alliances with several art publications like Drawing Blood, Hellion and Lobotomy in the 1990s, claiming his notoriety as America’s most sought after underground death/black metal artist. In recent years Mark has completed work for bands like Absu, Arsis, Autopsy, Cephalic Carnage, Circle of Dead Children, Dying Fetus, Enthroned, Hypocrisy, Internal Bleeding, Kataklysm, Misery Index, The Black Dahlia Murder, The Faceless, Through the Eyes of the Dead and Tristania. Bands, fanzines, and record labels continue to solicit Mark’s talent for their merchandising needs.
